KOTA KINABALU – Sabah police today confirmed an investigation into police officers over their alleged involvement with “dirty work”. 

Sabah police commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali said this after Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador admitted to the presence of a “cartel of dirty cops” in the force, involving the country’s top officers. 

“The matter is still under investigation and we are collecting information,” Hazani told The VIbes today. 

Hamid today had again vowed to clean up the Malaysian police force, alleging the “cartel of dirty cops” comprised senior police officers. 

The so-called cartel would ensure that their collaborators get promoted so they can dominate their teams and police hierarchy in the future, making it easier for them to carry out their “dirty work”. 

Hamid added that this group has created a network among themselves, including collaborating with criminals after they became top officers. – The Vibes, January 1, 2021
