NEGERI Sembilan Perikatan Nasional said it was prepared to work with Barisan Nasional to ensure the stability of the state government.

State opposition leader Mohamed Hanifer Abu Backer, who is also Labu state assemblyman, represented all five PN state lawmakers in saying so.

“We are prepared to work with the BN assemblymen to ensure stability and continuity in the state government, for Negeri Sembilan to be developed and to take care of the people’s well-being.

"PN assemblymen have always put the priority of the people of Negeri Sembilan as part of their agenda and party struggle,” he told a press conference in Seremban.

Also present were the other four state PN assemblymen.

Hanifer did not take questions, but handed over a letter of cooperation to Negeri Sembilan Umno secretary Datuk Mustapha Nagoor, who is also the Palong state assemblyman.

Negeri Sembilan Umno retracted its support for menteri besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun this morning, declaring that all 14 of its assemblymen had lost confidence in him.

PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and PAS deputy election chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa were also seen at the media conference venue earlier.

Mustapha said he would hand over the letter to state Umno chief Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias.

"Since they have expressed their intention to work together, let the party decide," he added. – April 27, 2026
