THE ninth Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Datuk Ismail Lasim, has announced tomorrow (Monday) as a public holiday in the state as a sign of appreciation to all who made the democratic process a success.

Ismail said the announcement was made after receiving the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir,  after the Menteri Besar swearing-in ceremony at the Balairung Seri, Istana Besar Seri Menanti today.

“This holiday is an appreciation to the people of Negeri Sembilan and all parties who have worked hard to make the election in this state a success.

"Many are still tired, and so tomorrow we will give them a chance to rest," he said. – August 2, 2026
