KUALA LUMPUR – Steamy scenes between actors Zul Ariffin and Siti Hariesa in a promotional video for the TV series Perempuan Itu has left Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Idris Ahmad heaving a sigh of disapproval.

Taking to Facebook, Idris expressed disappointment that the drama was planned to be aired during the month of Ramadan.

He said that while entertainment is not prohibited in Islam, the religion does require discipline when it comes to entertainment decorum.

“In Islam, there’s a decorum for entertainment that requires strict discipline, especially when a man and woman is involved in scenes that is clear to be inviting immorality,” Idris said on Facebook.

Although the Malaysian entertainment industry does not require interference, Idrus said that when it insults religion, he could not let it go without at least providing advice on the matter.

Idris said that he will contact those involved to remedy the matter.
