GEORGE TOWN – PAS’ online publicity and news portal Harakah Daily has apologised to DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng over a news item that a former special adviser to Lim had joined the Perikatan Nasional component party.

The portal notified in an open posting that an individual identified as Mohamed Razali Abd Rahman was never a special officer to the former Penang chief minister, nor was he in any of the other positions cited.

The portal explained that it had used the present archives from 2016 and it was not updated. It said that it did not check to verify for accuracy.

It said that it hence expressed its regret and with an open-heart issued an apology to Lim and other parties related to the posting.

Lim’s political secretary Wong Hon Wai, who shared the report, said that the apology was issued after a warning from him yesterday to the portal.

The original report was inaccurate and was unfair to both Lim and DAP, said Wong. – The Vibes, June 26, 2023
