KELANTAN police have not ruled out the possibility that a woman in her 30s known as Luna, who is believed to be the head of a drug smuggling syndicate following the seizure of ‘bunga ganja’ in Kuala Krai on Sunday, is already in Thailand.
Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said they have contacted authorities in the neighbouring country to help track down and arrest the woman.
"We have been to the suspect's family home, and checks found that she was not at the location.
"Police believe the suspect is already on the other side (Thailand)," he said during a press conference at the Kelantan Police Contingent (IPK) Headquarters, today.
It was earlier reported that the police were hunting a woman in her 30s who is believed to be the head of a drug smuggling syndicate following the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of ‘bunga ganja’ worth RM1.82 million in Kuala Krai.
The mastermind of the syndicate is a woman who is believed to have dual citizenship and is based in a neighbouring country.
According to Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) Director, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, last week's drug seizure was the result of a four-month operation by Bukit Aman JSJN through Ops Agas, which also revealed that the seized drugs were believed to be for the international market.
Following this, Bukit Aman requested assistance from the Thai Police to track down 'Luna', but so far, there has been no development.
The woman is believed to be using a restaurant conceal her activities. – January 14, 2026
