DATUK Seri Hamzah Zainudin did not rule out the possibility that he and the 18 MPs who support the 'Reset' agenda could join an existing major party as a political platform.
Without revealing which party, the Larut MP said the proposal to establish a new political party was not the best way forward in the current landscape.
On the contrary, he said efforts to strengthen and 'reset' existing parties were considered more relevant for the country's future.
Therefore, his priority at the moment is not to establish a new organisation, but to ensure that existing parties can attract the people's interest and remain relevant in the long term.
"A party cannot just be a platform for meetings or activities, but rather it must be mobilised as a clear and principled struggle.
"The important thing is that we prove that the house we enter later is the only one that we will expand and 'reset' to become a platform for the struggle to defend the fate of religion, race and country," he said in Melaka today.
Also present were the Head of the Melaka Reset Secretariat, Tan Sri Rahim Tamby Chik and the Member of Parliament for Masjid Tanah, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.
Asked about the rumours of joining PAS, Hamzah, who was sacked from Bersatu, said he was still undecided about joining the opposition party.
Meanwhile, Hamzah confirmed that Reset Melaka will participate in the State Election (PRN), which is expected to be held no later than next December.
"It is certain (Reset Melaka will participate in the PRN), because Melaka needs visionary people to govern the state," he said. – April 11, 2026
