BESUT – The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services will hold its final meeting with the government tomorrow to finalise the matter that will be announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on August 30.
Its president Datuk Adnan Mat said the meeting would hopefully provide relief to the country’s 1.4 million civil servants who fall under grade 54 and below.
He spoke to reporters at the Institute of Islamic Learning Malaysia East Region near Bukit Keluang here last night.
Adnan said the government should prioritise raising the minimum wage and giving additional allowances for civil servants.
“We are confident that the government is able to consider, if not all, at least some of the things we have asked and discussed before,” he said. – Bernama, August 25, 2022
