GEORGE TOWN – Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) preparations to face the six state elections, including the distribution of seats, are 80% complete, said its deputy chairman Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

He said discussions for the state elections had been held with the component parties in the coalition during the 15th general election last year.

“It can be said that 80% of our preparations have been completed and the next move is to refine our strategy,” he told a press conference at the Penang Gerakan headquarters here, last night.

Earlier, Hadi, who is PAS president, held a dialogue with Gerakan leaders including its chairman Datuk Dominic Lau and Penang chairman Oh Tong Keong.

The six states that will hold their elections this year are Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kelantan and Terengganu.

Commenting on the dialogue, Hadi said it is aimed at strengthening the relationship between PN and Gerakan, as well as providing accurate information on related issues, including Islamophobia. – Bernama, January 10, 2023
