ON Feb 17, The Vibes carried an article on Penang Consumer Protection Association president Datuk K. Koris Atan’s recommendation for an elevator to take elderly and disabled devotees up the Waterfall Hilltop Temple - especially during Thaipusam - but his recommendation fell on deaf ears despite complaining about it for a while to the State authorities and to Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy.
Also it was reported in the said article that, according to Koris, Penang Hindu Endowment Board under Ramasamy had its priorities wrong for using funds that should have been used to build the elevator, to introduce the golden chariot.
Ramasamy in a subsequent interview with The Vibes publisher Feb 18 clarified that he had never spoken to Koris on this matter and the allegations made by Koris against him, the State government and the Board are based on false and untrue information.
We hereby unconditionally apologise to the Deputy Chief Minister II for any inconvenience and/or confusion he may have endured as a result of the erroneous report.
