KULIM – The police will continue to help retired members of the force financially impacted by the pandemic, along with underprivileged members of the public, through its Op Bantu initiative in place since last month.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said they will work continue to work with other authorities, such as the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, in the operation.
“Op Bantu cannot be executed by the police force alone; we are getting assistance from the Welfare Department, district offices and non-governmental organisations.
“These parties will provide us with their food aid and goods so that we can deliver them to the necessary people.
“We do not set any target for this Op Bantu, which will continue. Hence, we will get help from parties who are willing to help,” he said after handing over boxes of food aid and goods to head of departments after visiting the Kulim police headquarters this morning.
With him was Kedah police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat.
Acryl Sani said as part of Op Bantu, police personnel also helped rebuild a room of a retired policeman’s home at Kg Bukit Sidim, near here. – The Vibes, August 26, 2021
