A 27-YEAR-old woman was found dead in a condominium in Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Brickfields Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook said they received a call at about 11.35am from the landlord who was unable to contact his tenant.
He said the landlord was informed by the management about a foul smell coming from a unit.
"A police patrol team was sent to the location with the landlord and a locksmith. When the door was forced open, the police found the tenant's body hanging in the bathroom," he said as reported by BH.
He said the body was already decomposed with a strong odor and significant changes to the skin.
"Initial checks found that the house was locked from the inside and the woman's personal belongings, including her cellphone and handbag, were still in their original places.
"She has been living alone since the beginning of this year and is believed to be running an online clothing business," he said, adding that the landlord informed that the last time he spoke to the woman was on September 4 regarding rent arrears.
He added that forensic officers from the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) and a medical officer from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) were also at the scene and confirmed the victim's death at about 1.45pm yesterday.
"Police will take further statements from the victim's family members," he said.
The case is classified as a sudden death (SDR) with a post-mortem scheduled to be conducted at the Tuanku Muhriz Chancellor Hospital (HUKM) today to identify the cause of death. - September 20, 2025.
