KUALA LUMPUR – Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has the ultimate power to decide which political coalition will receive en bloc support.

In a press conference today, Zahid stressed that any decision by BN will be made via the coalition’s highest governing body, of which he is the chair.

He also said there have yet to be any “official negotiations” with either Pakatan Harapan (PH) or Perikatan Nasional.

“All decisions to support any coalition will be made by the BN Supreme Council.

“Any statements issued by any BN lawmakers supporting any coalition, especially Perikatan Nasional, are not valid and those doing so will be in breach of the party’s directive.”

Zahid was speaking to the press following a meeting between BN and PH leadership at the Seri Pacific Hotel here today. Along with Zahid, 25 other BN lawmakers were present.

Kuala Pilah MP Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan and Jelebu MP Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias were not present as they were unwell.

Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has openly maintained his stance against working with PH. He was also not present at the hotel.

Similarly, Simpang Renggam MP Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad was not at the hotel. – The Vibes, November 21, 2022
