KOTA KINABALU – A video posted by Kunak assemblyman Norazlinah Arif on TikTok in June last year, in which she stated that would never leave Warisan even if offered money and power, is now being used as the basis of a police report lodged against her.
Norazlinah left Warisan along with two other assemblymen, namely Ben Chong (Tanjong Kapor) and Mohamad Mohamarin (Banggi) last week, to back Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor, who is also Sabah chief minister.
Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal had claimed during his parliamentary debate on the royal address that the three former Warisan leaders had been bought.
Various news outlets reported earlier today that Norazlinah was prepared to be investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in response to Shafie’s accusation.
Warisan’s women wing today lodged a police report thereafter, using Norazlinah’s TikTok video posted on June 5 last year as the basis of their report, to allow MACC to launch a corruption probe into her.

Norazlinah coincidentally was also Warisan’s women chief prior to her leaving the party.
In the video, she said she was excited when she was offered millions of ringgit and positions to leave Warisan, but believed that accepting such offers is not the will of her voters.
“So it would be impossible for me to say no to Warisan, which has given my election victory… I will not leave Warisan because of the people, as they voted for me due to the party,” said Norazlinah in the short video.
Rumours of Norazlinah leaving Warisan had been making the rounds several times after the Sabah election in 2020.
The number of assemblymen in Warisan has since shrunk from 21 to 16 assemblymen due to defections and a death. – The Vibes, February 16, 2023
