West Asia conflict: Fuel prices continue to soar
The Ministry of Finance reassured the public that it would continue monitoring international oil price trends closely - March 25, 2026

THE ongoing West Asian conflict has pushed global crude oil prices up by more than 40% to over US$100 per barrel, increasing the risk of disruption to global oil supplies.

However, the MADANI Government has maintained the subsidised price of RON95 at RM1.99 per litre through the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95), while other fuel prices have been adjusted in stages in line with global price increases since the end of February 2026.

RON97 increased by 60 sen from RM4.55 to RM5.15 per litre, while RON95 (without subsidy) also increased by 60 sen from RM3.27 to RM3.87 per litre.

Diesel prices for Peninsula Malaysia increased by 80 sen from RM4.72 to RM5.52 per litre, while it is maintained at RM2.15 for Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.

The Ministry of Finance reassured the public that it would continue monitoring international oil price trends closely and take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare of consumers is protected, amid ongoing global price volatility. - January 21, 2026
